Mad Alice Media
We are a Melbourne based Production Company, but who are we?
Mad Alice Media was formed in 2015 by Melbourne filmmakers, Cassten Roberts, Reuben Meltzer, Paul Westbrook & Benjamin Lee.
With our combined knowledge and experiences of the filmmaking process we endeavour to educate ourselves and our fellow filmmakers in a unique and fun way.
As a team we strive to create as much content as possible, as well as document our process in entertaining and hilarious Behind the Scenes shorts (available via Patreon).
While we can't offer you money, if you are interested in collaborating please don't hesitate to reach out. Our network is always growing.

Cassten is a one-man army. There isn’t anything this guy can’t do on set.
Cassten enrolled himself in the Film and Television Production course at JMC Academy in Melbourne, a leading creative institution, where he specialised in not only directing, producing and writing but also technical aspects of the film production such as cinematography, gaffing and colour grading.
At his time at the film school, Cassten had experience in directing, producting and filming various productions including short films, music videos, documentaries, live events and multi-camera television shows. Most notably in 2015, Cassten has written and directed a short action-drama film, Bereavement, as part of his graduation project where he was in charge of thirty crew and cast members on the set.
Cassten prefers to make short horrors, thrillers and dark comedies. His films have been screened at local and international film festivals, as well as been nominated for numerous awards in 2014 and 2015.

Reuben studied film production at the New School in New York City, where he directed a number of dark and inventive shorts both in narrative and experimental art forms. He is also the organiser and founder of Name in White Films, an experimental film festival that ran in New York and beyond for a number of years. After creating a series of micro-documentaries about indie music artists for his web series "The Moment."
Reuben engineered a daring feat of gonzo filmmaking by directing and producing an unauthorized feature-length documentary about the music festival Bonnaroo. From this, he moved onto co-produced and directed an epic sci-fi short funded via Kickstarter (over $30,000 raised). This experience thrust him well and truly within the Melbourne independent film scene, where he continued on to produce one no-budget feature and three shorts.
